BE is standard, since you can do more with it than with a B+ license.\r\nWhat kind of trailer can you drive with trailer license BE?\r\nWith a recent trailer license BE, you may drive:\r\n\r\n \ta trailer of 750 to 3500 kg, behind a car or van of up to 3500 kg\r\n\r\nIt is always about the official, maximum weight of the car, trailer and load.\r\n\r\nOther licenses can also be used to tow a trailer. Which license belongs to which trailer is determined by maximum permitted weight of the trailer plus load.\r\n\r\nTrailer and cargo are together:\r\n\r\n \tlighter than 750 kg: driving license B<\/a> is sufficient\r\n \tbetween 750 and 3500 kg: driving license BE\r\n \theavier than 3500 kg: a driving license BE obtained before January 19, 2013<\/a> or a driving license C1E<\/a> or CE<\/a>\r\n \theavier than 750 kg, but with the weight of car or van added lighter than 3500 kg: driving license B<\/a> is sufficient\r\n \theavier than 750 kg, but with the weight of car or van added between 3500 and 4250 kg: driving license <\/a>B+<\/a> or BE<\/a>\r\n \tbetween 750 and 3500 kg, and with the weight of car or van added heavier than 4250 kg: driving license BE<\/a>\r\n\r\nThe police have a very handy tool<\/a> where you can enter all the weights and from that comes the required license.\r\n\r\nAt the RDW you can enter a license plate number and see the weight<\/a> of the car and the maximum tow bar load.\r\n\r\nRemember that there are other rules for trailers:\r\n\r\n \tthe tow bar should also be able to handle it<\/a>\r\n \ttrailers over 750 kg must always be braked and have their own registration number<\/a>\r\n \tabove 1500 kg, a breakaway brake device is also mandatory<\/a>\r\n\r\nTrailer without a BE driver's license?\r\nIf you do not have a valid license for the combination car, trailer and cargo, there are these risks:\r\n\r\n \tThat you put other road users in (life) danger, because the trailer will veer, for example\r\n \tThat you will be fined\r\n \tThat you are not insured\r\n\r\nYet you don't always have to get a trailer license to drive a car or van with a trailer:\r\n\r\n \tIf the trailer may be driven with a B driving license<\/a>\r\n \tIf you obtained your car license B before January 1, 1984<\/a>.\r\nBack then, you got BE automatically with it.\r\n \tIf you have a C1E driver's license<\/a>\r\n\r\nGetting a trailer license\r\nYou may apply for your BE license if you:\r\n\r\n \tHave a B driver's license, and:\r\n \tAre over 18<\/a>, and:\r\n \tpassed the practical test BE\r\n\r\nThere is no theory exam with it.\r\n\r\nYou must fill out a health statement<\/a>, but there is no standard medical examination.\r\nIt is required only for certain diseases and conditions<\/a>, or over the age of 75<\/a>.\r\nBE driving license in your pocket, but little experience?\r\nIf you are officially allowed to drive a heavy trailer, but are still unsure of your skills, our trailer refresher course<\/a> is recommended.\r\nGreat for people who drive a heavy caravan once a year, or use the trailer from work only occasionally.\r\nGet your trailer driving license BE at Alblas!\r\nRijschool Alblas offers several E behind B driving license packages:\r\n\r\n \tthe full-day BE course<\/a>\r\nYou will be taught how to drive a trailer all day.
